Helga specialized in Dance and Health on the 'Art of Touch' Programme - an initiative by Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in partnership with Rosetta Life - where she trained with mentors Lucinda Jarrett and Miranda Tufnell in the facilitation of dance and creative movement work in dementia and end of life care settings.
For almost ten years Helga has been working extensively in healthcare and older age contexts, facilitating creative movement workshops and projects as well as cross-disciplinary collaborations. This includes 'Breathing, Moving, Being', a one-year residency programme at Marymount University Hospital & Hospice in Cork (2013-2014) and working as lead artist and project manager on the 'Fuse Arts and Health' Programme for MusicAlive (2014-2016). In 2019 Helga was awarded artist in residence with MusicAlive together with choir conductor Susan McManamon and witness writer Arnold Thomas Fanning on theCreative Enquiry - Arts and Older People Programme, an initiative by Cork City & Cork County Council in partnership with Age and Opportunity and the HSE (Arts Council Invitation to Collaboration Scheme).
