With a passion for developing dance in education settings Helga facilitates dance experiences in primary and secondary schools ranging from once off workshops to themed class programmes and performance projects.
Since her studies in Social Work with a focus on Music and Movement in 2008, Helga has facilitated creative dance and music classes in primary and secondary schools including an extensive one year programme at 'Bischof-Manfred-Mueller Schule' in Regensburg, Germany.
Since relocating to Ireland Helga has worked on the Arts in Education Initiative / Teacher Artist Partnership Programme (The Department of Education and Skills and the Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht) with Cork Education Support Centre, holding residencies at Gaelscoil Na Douglaise (2016 & 2021), Bunscoil Chriost Ri (2019) and Scoil Bernadette (2022 & 2023) as well as facilitating regular summer courses for teachers and artists.
Further, Helga developed a dance outreach programme for primary schools on 'geometry in movement' (2017) and 'the history of Skibbereen and the Ilen River' (2018) as part of her post as Dance Artist in Residence at Uillinn: West Cork Arts Centre which she delivered in participating schools in the West Cork area.
